Signs of a cable or drum problem
- Loose cable hangs beside the trackLost spring tension, an off-drum cable, a door obstruction, or damaged hardware can leave cable visibly slack.
- The door is crooked in the openingUnequal cable tension can let one side rise before the other and may pull rollers or sections out of position.
- Cable strands look frayed or rustedBroken strands, kinks, corrosion, flattened areas, and rubbing marks are reasons to stop operation and have the lifting system checked.
- The cable crossed or left the drumA cable can spool incorrectly after an obstruction, track problem, spring issue, impact, or uneven movement.
